Live Illustrations at Colonnade House Worthing
Thank you for coming along to my exhibition at Colonnade House in Worthing. I had a wonderful week meeting people. I enjoyed demonstrating and sharing my work with visitors as well as sketching on my iPad.

The activity to become part of the picture was so much fun and gave me time to sketch life on Warwick Street including passers by and those keen to be put in the scene. Like this man with the two dogs! I was delighted to have the opportunity to create a quick sketch whilst he looked through the window at the exhibition.
There was some excitement on social media when I posted the image on @amandabeckartist his neighbour recognised him who then told his daughter and the grandson said 'Look there's Granddad!' He is now takes pride of place in their home and I couldn't be happier.
If you’d like to know more about the pieces I created for this exhibition as well as how it came about, please check out Colonnade House website. Here you’ll find a short video of me sharing my work and talking about the stories behind the illustrations. It’s been an amazing journey thanks to funding by Arts Council England.
Visitors particularly enjoyed seeing how I created my work. Here's a short video of Worthing Pier (featured in the exhibition) created during low tide. It was started on location and then completed from sketches back in the studio. It's now on show until 16th September at East Beach Studios.
Here are some of the sketches I created from the window at Colonnade House and in Warwick Street during the exhibition. I've also included a couple of recent illustrations completed after the exhibition.

If you're following me on Instagram you'll have seen this sketch. I ran a competition 'Caption this!' to win a free print and visit the workshop at East Beach Studios.

The lucky winner is Rachel Davis who chose the title 'Seagull Stand off!'
Rachel is pictured here with her choice of print. She's holding a 30cm x 30cm print entitled 'Sunrise Paddleboarder' inspired by my walks watching paddleboarders glide by as I walk along the seashore.
If you'd like to see the selection of prints and greetings cards they are on sale at East Beach Studio no.33 until 16th September 2021.
I am a ‘live illustrator’ if you’d like to hire me for a special event or even to sketch you and your family having a picnic on the beach! Please get in touch. I’ll create something for you that will keep your memories alive in a sketch. Bringing joy into your home every time you look at it. I love sketching dogs and their owners and there's a very special event being organised! Please sign up to my newsletter if you'd like to be the first to hear about it.
