I have designed these workshops for people to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in Kildwick and to share my passion and enthusiasm for sketching.  As an experienced tutor I hope to inspire others to take up the sketching habit and enjoy it as much as I do.  Sketching focuses the mind and helps us be present in the moment.  It is wonderful to observe nature and to become part of it's surroundings.  Sketching isn't about perfection so come along and just enjoy exploring your creativity! you never know where it may lead to.

We will be based in the popular and friendly café Coffee and Crumbs. If the weather is good, we will be sketching together by the canal. Alternative plans have been made in case of bad weather in the room above the café.  During the winter months we may only sketch briefly but we can also gather things to draw nearby.

We will start the workshop at 10am with a hot drink and an introduction. I will share lots of handy tips and techniques to use with different sketching materials. Every workshop will highlight a different sketching tool as well as a different subject matter. I will also remain flexible to different abilities and interests as well as being inspired on the day. Occasionally I will bring things for you to try and you’re welcome to purchase them at the workshop.

We will then sketch nearby (or enjoy an indoor sketching activity) returning for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we will continue sketching after a short demonstration. I will work with everyone individually and we can come together at 3pm above the café to enjoy sharing our sketches and feedback from myself.
